Día de los Muertos Sugar Skulls

Consegui fazer a minha terceira mani temática de Halloween e aqui está mais uma que eu adorei.
I got to make my third Halloween themed mani and here's another one I love.
 

Há muito que queria fazer essas caveirinhas de açúcar. A Calavera é uma representação do crânio humano feita seja em açúcar ou em argila, a qual é usada no México na celebração do Dia dos Mortos.
It's been a long time I want to make those sugar skulls. Calavera is a representation of human skull made from either sugar or clay, which is used in the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead.
 

No polegar, indicador e mindinho passei três camadas do Best Hip Hop da Essence coleção Rock Out!!, uma coleção limitada que acabou de ser lançada aqui. Consegui comprar a coleção toda, por isso depois farei um post com swatches para vocês.
On the thumb, index and pinky I applied three coats of Best Hip Hop by Essence from a Rock Out!! limited edition collection that was just released here. I got the whole collection, so I'll make a swatches post later on.
 

No médio e no anelar foram duas camadas do Francesinha da Ellen Gold (que coloquei em um vidrinho vazio da Essence por causa do pincel maravilhoso) e desenhei as caveiras comprinha acrílica preta usando esse tutorial aqui. Os detalhes foram feitos com esmaltes e um boleador pequeno e usei florzinhas em fimo para fazer os olhos.
On the middle and ring finger I applied two coats of Francesinha by Ellen Gold (which I poured in an empty bottle by Essence because of the wonderful brush) and drew the skulls with black acrylic paint using this tutorial here. The details were made with regular polishes and a small dotting tool and I used fimo flowers to make the eyes.
 

Amei demais essa mani. Estou muito satisfeita com o resultado. Quem aí também gosta de caveirinhas?

Cute Frankenstein

Tudo bem por aí?
Por aqui tudo enlouquecedoramente ótimo. Saí de um desafio para entrar em outro e continuo com o tempo escasso... kkkkkk
Mas estou conseguindo cumprir o meu objetivo de fazer mais manis para o Halloween esse ano e amei essa daqui. Acho que ficou muito fofa mesmo.
How are you doing?
I'm happily crazy busy. I finished a challenge to start another and I'm still lacking time.
But I'm being able to make more Halloween manis this year and I love this one. I think it turned out super cute.

Comecei com duas camadas do Lime Catwalk da Bourjois, outro encalhadinho. Achei a fórmula dele um tiquinho mais fluída do que os outros da linha, mas nada que escorra em litros para as cutículas. Cobre super bem em duas camadas, seca rápido e é fácil de limpar.
I started off with two coats of Lime Catwalk by Bourjois, another untried. I think its formula is a little more fluid than the other ones from this line, but nothing like liters of polish running to the cuticles. It gets fully opaque in two coats, dries quickly and it's easy to clean.
 

Desenhei o Frankenstein no indicador usando tinta acrílica preta e esse tutorial aqui. A noiva dele eu copiei de uma foto que não lembro onde vi. Os olhinhos e o detalhe no cabelo da noiva também fiz com tinta.
I drew the cute Frankenstein on the index using black acrylic paint and this tutorial here. I made his bride according to a picture I saw somewhere. The eyes and the detail on the bride's hair I also made with paint.
 

Nas outras unhas apenas fiz as cicatrizes com pontos para não deixar sem nada. Uma camadinha do extra brilho com óleo de argan da Ideal e voilà.
On the other nails I only made the scars with stitches so they would have something on them. I topped everything with the Brazilian top coat by Ideal (which I've been using a lot lately) and voilà.

31DC2014 Day 30: Inspired by a Tutorial

Good morning flowers!

Aqui estou na penúltima mani do desafio, último dia do mês e mais um marco na minha evolução aqui no blog. Realmente, esse desafio me fez aprimorar ainda mais as técnicas que já conhecia e me aventurar em outras que não tinha tanta intimidade.
Here I am on the thirtieth mani of the challenge, last day of the month and another milestone on my improvement here on the blog. Really, this challenge made me improve even more the techniques I already knew and get adventurous in others I didn't have much familiarity.

Dessa vez me inspirei por outra diva das flores lá no Instagram, a Katarzyna (@lynieczka) faz cada mani de babar e tem uns tutoriais super fáceis. Escolhi esse aqui e mudei as cores, lógico.
This time I got inspired by another diva of flowers on Instagram, Katarzyna (@lynieczka) makes incredibily gorgeous manis and has pretty easy tutorials. I picked this one and changed the colours, of course.

Aproveitei para desencalhar mais um bonitinho, o Matte Black da linha Make B. da O Boticário. Já mostrei o irmãozinho dele aqui. Achei que ele fosse mais fosco. Demora um pouquinho para secar, mas a consistência é bem boa.
I also took the opportunity to get another untried out of the box, Matte Black from the Make B. collection by a Brazilian brand called O Boticário. I've already shown its little brother here. I thought it would be more matte than that. I takes a bit of time to dry, but consistency is quite good.

Fiz as flores usando apenas tinta acrílica, começando com a branca para fazer a base e depois preenchendo com a rosa e a azul. Em seguida os últimos detalhes e uma camada do Matte Top Coat da OPI para finalizar.
I made the flowers using only acrylic paint, starting with white as base and then filling them with pink and blue. I finished with the last details and a coat of Matte Top Coat by OPI.

Impressionante como esse top coat faz a diferença. Acho que precisarei comprar outro.
It's impressive how much of a difference this top coat can make. I think I need to buy another one.

Good morning queens!

Hoje o post é mais que especial. Mais uma vez pendi para um lado diferente do sobrenatural e fui buscar inspiração no meu elemento: água.
Gostaria de deixar claro que não sou uma pessoa religiosa, mas sou espiritualizada. Gosto muito de mitologia e misticismo e tenho as minhas crenças. Peço que admirem a arte e respeitem a homenagem, independente das crenças de vocês.
Today's post is extremely special. Once again I picked a different side of supernatural and went seek for inspiration on my own element: water.
I'd like to say I'm not a religious person. I love mythology and mysticism and I have my own beliefs. I ask you to admire the art and respect the tribute, whichever your beliefs are.

Me inspirei em Iemanjá porque tenho uma conexão muito forte com o mar. Acho que nunca falei pra vocês, mas meu pai é mergulhador e por causa disso nós (irmão, irmã e eu... hehehe) crescemos entre o mar e a montanha. Meu sonho de criança era ser uma sereia. :-D
I was inspired by Iemanjá (Queen of The Ocean) because I have a very strong connection with the ocean. I think I never told you that, but my father is a scuba dive instructor and because of that we (bro, sis and I) grew up between the sea and the mountains. My childhood dream was to be a mermaid. :-D

Como base escolhi o Cool Gray (Sinful Colors), mais um encalhadinho de 2 anos. Usei base fosca para garantir uma esmaltação sem marcas, mas acho que nem precisava, pois ele é super fácil de esmaltar. Cobre com duas camadas e o tempo de secagem é bom.
I picked Cool Gray (Sinful Colors) as base, another one that stayed stuck in the box of untried for 2 years. I used and matte base coat to have a stroke-less finish, but I think it wasn't necessary because it's very smooth to apply. I gets fully opaque in two coats and drying time is ok.

No polegar e no mindinho fiz uma saran wrap com o Bleu Asphalte (Bourjois) e no anelar e no indicador esponjei um pouquinho e nem sei porque... rsrsrsrsrs
Depois passei o top coat matte para comecar a desenhar. Fiz tudo com tinta acrílica.
On the thumb and pinky I did a saran wrap with Bleu Asphalte (Bourjois) and on the ring finger and index I sponged a bit and don't even know why I did that... LOL
Then I applied the matte top coat to start drawing. I only used acrylic paint for this art.

Confesso que não sei quanto tempo eu levei para desenhar a Rainha do Mar e ela acabou ficando sem as mãos porque tenho mantido as unhas mais curtinhas. Se tivesse desenhado menor ela teria ficado estranha.
I have to admit I don't have any idea of how long it took me to draw the Queen of The Ocean and she ended up with no hands because I've been keeping my nails shorter. If I have drawn her smaller she would be weird.

Essa foi definitivamente uma das manis mais detalhadas que já fiz e vocês não têm idéia do orgulho que senti quando terminei. Close-up para mostrar bem os detalhes.
This was definitely one of the most detailed manicures I've ever made and you have no idea how proud I was when I finished it. Close-up on the details.

Fiquei tao feliz com o resultado dessa mani que até resolvi mostrar o esboço pra vocês.

31DC2014 Day 28: Inspired by a Flag

Bom dia gatas maravilhosas!
Good morning pretties!

Estou chegando ao fim... uhuuuuuuuul! Só mais três diazinhos. Nem acredito gente!
Dessa vez decidi me inspirar em uma bandeira nada convencional, a bandeira Rastafari.
Não sei se já falei pra vocês, mas eu já fui hippie gente. Juro, de verdade. Nunca fui rasta não, mas adoro um reggae.
I'm getting to the end of it... uhuuuuul! Only 3 more days to go. I can't believe it!
This time I got inspired by a non-conventional flag, the Rastafari flag.
I don't know if I told you already, but there was a time I was a hippie. Seriously guys. I wasn't a Rastafari, but I love reggae.

Na verdade, sou uma pessoa bastante eclética. No quesito música só não suporto mesmo é funk - brasileiro, porque funk de verdade, o americano, é bom demais - e sertanejo. De resto, curto de tudo um pouco.
Actually, I'm a pretty eclectic person. When it comes to music, the only styles I can't stand are Brazilian funk and country music. For the rest, I like a little bit of everything.

Falando da mani, peguei o Jade Is The New Black (OPI), o Little Miss Sunrise (Essence) e o Roaring Red (Catrice) para fazer a bandeira. Comecei delimitando as áreas usando as fitinhas, mas só consegui fazer o dedinho mindinho e acabei perdendo a paciência. Daí joguei na mão livre mesmo.
Talking about the mani, I got Jade Is The New Black (OPI), Little Miss Sunrise (Essence) and Roaring Red (Catrice) to make the flag. I started by delimiting the areas using stripping tape, but I only got to do the pinky and then I lost it. I finished the rest by freehand.
 

Passei uma camada horizontal do extra brilho da Ideal seguindo a direção das linhas e depois fosqueei tudo com o Matte Top Coat da OPI. Com um pincel para detalhes e tinta acrílica preta, desenhei o leão de Judah no dedo médio.
I applied regular top coat horizontally to follow the direction of the stripes and then Matte Top Coat by OPI. With a small detail brush and black acrylic paint, I drew the Judah lion on the middle finger.
 

Foi super fácil de fazer, em apenas 15 minutos ele estava pronto. Uma última camada de top coat fosco por cima e voilà.
It was super easy to make, only 15 minutes and I was done. A last coat of matte top coat and voilà.

Tudo bem por ai? Por aqui tudo ótimo.
Olha, juro pra vocês que o que eu sofri por falta de inspiração no desafio passado, eu fui compensada nesse. Talvez porque tivesse decidido começar planejando, ou simplesmente porque a minha musa está presente este mês. Não sei explicar, só sei que estou muito grata.
How are you doing? Everything is great over here.
Well, I swear to you that what I have suffered with a lack of inspiration on the last challenge, I was compensated on this one; Maybe because I started it with a plan, or simply because my muse is around this month. I can't explain, I just know I'm very grateful.

Quando pensei em obra de arte, na mesma hora pensei no Romero Britto. Só tinha que escolher obra, e essa foi a parte mais difícil, pois amo tudo que ele cria. Daí, olhando na parte de esculturas do site dele, achei essa cobrinha super fofa. A arte chama-se From Eden e foi criada em 2006.
When I thought of an artwork, I thought of Romero Britto. I just had to chose the work, and that was the most difficult part, because I love everything he creates. Then, checking the sculptures page of his website, I found this super cute snake. The artwork is called From Eden and was made in 2006.

Aproveitei para estrear outro esmalte divo novinho em folha, o Kiwi da Barry M, também da coleção Exotic Summer. Uma maravilha para esmaltar. Parece manteiga de tão perfeito. Na primeira camada ele já cobre super bem, mas passei a segunda para deixar a esmaltação homogênea.
I took the opportunity to use another brand new gorgeous polish, Kiwi by Barry M, also from the Exotic Summer collection. Wonderful to apply. It's smooth like butter. It's already opaque on the first coat, but I applied the second to have an even finish.

Pena que não tive espaço para terminar a maçã na cabeça da cobrinha, por isso ficou parecendo um chapeuzinho de coração, ou um laço.. hehehehehhe
It's a shame I didn't have enough space to finish the apple on the snake's head, so I looks like a heart-shaped hat, or a bow... hehehehhe

Só usei tinta para desenhá-la mesmo, para preencher usei vários esmaltes diferentes. Depois foi só passar top coat e voilà. Amei, amei, amei!
I only used acrylic paint to draw it, for filling I used many different polishes.
Then just applied top coat and voilà. I love it, love it, love it!

Good morning roses of my garden!

A mani de hoje é mais uma que me deixou extremamente orgulhosa e me lembrou o porquê de ter decidido enfrentar esse desafio de novo: para aprimorar as minhas técnicas e me superar cada vez mais.
Today's mani is another one that made me extremely proud and reminded me why I decided to enter this challenge again: to improve my techniques and grow with my art.

De início, queria fazer uma mani inspirada na história de Ícaro, pois é uma história que meu pai contava pra gente quando éramos pequenos smurfs. Mas perdi a foto que tinha achado e não lembrava direito as cores. Daí escolhi outro livro que marcou a minha infância: O Pequeno Príncipe. O primeiro livro que li sozinha. 
At first, I wanted to make a mani inspired by the story of Icarus, because it's a tale my dad used to tell us when we were little smurfs. But I lost the picture I had found and couldn't remember the exact colours. So I picked another book that made a lasting impression on my childhood: The Little Prince. The first book I read by myself.

O esmalte escolhido para reinar nessa arte foi o Rose Bower da A-England. Deixo só uma 'fotenha' dele aqui, pois farei um post especial só para ele depois que o desafio acabar, porque ele merece!
The polish I picked to reign in this art is Rose Bower by A-England. I show you just one picture of it because I'll make a special post for it once the challenge is over, because it deserves the spot!

No médio e no anelar passei duas camadas do Francesinha da Ellen Gold e passei o top coat matte da OPI por cima. Tinha lido em um blog que desenhar com tinta acrílica sobre esmalte fosco é mais fácil do que sobre cremoso, e realmente, a diferença é gritante. A tinta adere com muito mais facilidade sobre o esmalte fosco. Como se estivesse desenhando no papel. Juro.
On the middle and ring finger I applied two coats of Francesinha by Ellen Gold and topped it with the Matte Top Coat by OPI. I read on a blog that drawing with acrylic paint over matte polish is much easier than over a regular creme, and serioulsy, it makes a huge difference. The paint adheres much easier over the matte polish. It's like I was drawing on paper. I swear.

Também vi em um outro blog que umedecer o pincel com óleo antes de passar na tinta, ajuda o traço a ficar mais homogêneo e sem falhas. Gente, juro pra vocês, nunca foi tão fácil desenhar uma rosa na minha vida. Escolhi essa aqui em vez da clássica rosa protegida pelo vidro.
I also read on another blog that wetting the brush with oil before dipping it in the paint, helps get a smoother line with no bald spots. Guys, I promise you, it was never so easy to draw a rose. I picked this one instead of the classic rose protected by the glass.

Fiz uma foto em close-up porque amei demais a minha arte. Se vocês me permitirem colocar a modéstia na gavetinha, achei que ficou muito linda mesmo!
I even took a close-up because I love this art so much. If you allow me to put the modesty in the drawer, I think it's gorgeous!
