Green & Blue Streaky Watercolour

Tudo bem por aí? Como eu disse no post de sexta, esta semana estou passando minhas férias com o amorzão no sul de Portugal, na região do Algarve para ser mais específica, e não poderei visitar os blogs de vocês nem responder os comentários. Mas voltei à rotina de 3 posts por semana e deixei-os programados para essa semana.

As I said on Friday's post, this week I'm spending my vacation with my love in the south of Portugal, in the Algarve to be more specific, and I won't be able to visit your blog or reply to your comments. But I'm back to the 3 posts a wee routine and will leave them scheduled this week.

Trouxe a vocês uma técnica que ainda não tinha experimentado, e fotos velhas da época do iPhone ainda, e que gostei bastante, apesar de ainda não ter ficado como eu gostaria. A técnica chama-se Streaky Watercolour (aquarela riscada) e foi inventada pela Sammy do The Nailasaurus.
I bring you a technique I hadn't tried yet, and some old pics from when I took them with the iPhone, and  I like it a lot, even though it's not quite as I wanted. The technique is called Streaky Watercolour and was created by Sammy from The Nailasaurus.

É super fácil de fazer, basta diluir o esmalte no removedor (em uma tampinha ou tábua de plástico, por favor) e dar pinceladas bem de leve com um pincel quadrado, quase como se não encostasse o pincel na unha. Usei esse tutorial que ela fez.
It's very easy to do, you just have to thin the polish out with polish remover or acetone and apply it on your nails using a square brush, with very little pressure on the brush, almost as you didn't touch the nail. I used this tutorial she made.

A cor de base é o Alpine Snow (OPI) e as cores usadas foram o Pacific Blue (Sally Hansen), AmazOn... Amazoff (OPI) e 343 Spring Green (Kiko). Adorei a mani e com certeza tentarei essa técnica de novo.
Base colour is Alpine Snow (OPI) and the colours used for the art are Pacific Blue (Sally Hansen), AmazOn... Amazoff (OPI) and 343 Spring Green (Kiko). I love this many and will definitely try this technique again.

Pacific Blue - Sally Hansen + Konad

Então, como eu falei na quarta, hoje venho mostrar o up que eu dei no divino Pacific Blue da Sally Hansen.
Ele é tão perfeito, mas tão perfeito, mas tão perfeito que fiquei com medo que qualquer arte sequer fosse esconder a beleza dele.

So, as I said on Wednesday, today I come show you what I did with the gorgeous Pacific Blue by Sally Hansen.
It's so perfect, but so perfect, but so perfect that I was afraid any art would hide its beauty.

Por isso optei por algo bem simples, só para dar uma incrementada mesmo, mas deixando toda a beleza dele à vista, porque ele merece divar sozinhoooooo! :-P
Para tal, usei o esmalte para carimbo 24 Aqua da Mundo de Uñas e a plaquinha M79 da Konad.
So I chose to do something simple, just to give it a pop, because it deserves to have the spotlight all for itself.
For that, I used the stamping polish 24 Aqua by Mundo de Uñas and the image plate M79 by Konad.

Já mostrei algumas carimbadas com os esmaltes da MDU e instiguei o desejo de muitas de vocês, eu sei. Mas infelizmente parece que teve um problema com a distribuidora e ela não está mais fazendo entregas internacionais. Ao menos não por enquanto. :-(
I have already showed a few arts using those MDU polishes and I know I made a few of you want it as well.
But unfortunately it seems the distributor had a problem and she's not shipping international anymore. At least not for now. :-(

Me arrependi de ter comprado só 10 minis. Deveria ter me jogado em uns 30.... kkkkk
Espero que ela reabra para vendas internacionais, pois os esmaltes são maravilhosos!

Pacific Blue - Sally Hansen (original formula)

Todo mundo ficou super alvoroçado com o tal do Frio na Barriga da Giovanna Antonelli by Hits né? E acabou dando nos nervos da maioria das blogueiras que já eram apaixonadas pela cor e muitas até começaram a perder o gosto pelos azuis elétricos né?

Everybody in Brazil was crazy about the Frio na Barriga from Giovanna Antonelli's collection by Hits. And many bloggers there got kind of sick of eletric blue polishes.

Bom, não foi o meu caso. Apesar de não ter tido a oportunidade de testar o FNB, não deixarei de amar azuis nunca e por isso vim encher o saco de vocês com mais um. Essa perfeição em forma de esmalte é o Pacific Blue da Sally Hansen. A fórmula dele é uma delíciaaaaa! Melhor coisa do mundo para esmaltar. Ele cobre perfeitamente em uma camada (mas eu passo duas de mania mesmo), não escorre, não mancha, enfim, é perfeito mesmo!
Well, that wasn't the case for me. Even if I didn't have the opportunity to test FNB, I'll never stop loving blue and that's why I came bother you with another one. This perfection in a bottle is Pacific Blue by Sally Hansen. It's formula is fantastic! The best ever. It's very smooth to apply and it gets fully opaque with one coat (I always apply two), it doesn't run, it doesn't stain, well, it's really perfect!

Não sei se vocês ficaram sabendo, mas a marca mudou a fórmula do PB e é lógico que eu tinha que desejá-lo logo quando sai do mercado né? Kkkk... Daí dei a sorte de arrematar dois (isso mesmo, dois) em um leilão do eBay. Confesso que nem me importei com o preço não, pois eu queria muitooooooo!
I don't know if you heard (I'm sure most of you out the have), but SH changed its formula and of course, I had to want it exactly when they went out of stock right? Lol... But I was extremely lucky and won two (yes, two) in an auction on eBay. I have to admit I didn't even mind the price, because I really wanted it!

Lendo esse post aqui da Jen (The PolishAholic) vi que a nova versão é jelly com shimmer. Ela passou três camadas e ainda dá para ver a linha da unha. Ainda bem que consegui garantir os meus, pois não gostei nadinha de nada da versão nova!
Reading this post here by Jen (The PolishAholic) I saw the new version is a jelly with shimmer. She applied three coats and you can still see the nail line. Fortunately I got mine, because I didn't like the new version, not at all!

Navy Love for Nailstorming

Tudo bem com vocês? Por aqui tudo ótimo.
Hoje trago a vocês mais um estilo de mani que eu amo: Navy Nails. A última vez que fiz uma mani náutica foi para o 'Todas Usam' do Troca-Troca de Esmaltes há quase 1 ano e achei que já estava na hora de fazer outra né? Heheheheheh
Aproveitei essa mani para participar pela primeira vez do Nailstorming. É um desafio  organizado pela francesa Emma, para conectar as amantes de nail art. Basta criar uma mani no tema escolhido e postar nos domingos usando a hashtag #nailstorming.

Today I bring you another kind of mani I love: Navy Nails. Last time I made navy nails was for the post 'We All Use It' from Troca-Troca de Esmaltes (a Brazilian NPA group on Facebook) almost a year ago and I thought it was time to make another one, right? Hehehehehe
I also took the opportunity to participate for the first time of the Nailstorming. It's a challenge organized by the French artist Emma, to connect us all NPAs. You just have to create a mani with the prompt chosen and share it on Sundays using the hashtag #nailstorming.

Para começar esmaltei o indicador, o médio e o mindinho com duas camadas do Alpine Snow (OPI) sobre base fosca (como sempre). Passei top coat para acelerar a secagem e passei o Amazing California Love (OPI) por cima. 
I started applying two coats Alpine Snow (OPI) over a matte base coat on the index, middle finger and pinky. I top coated them to speed up drying time and applied Amazing California Love (OPI) on top. 

Dessa vez usei as fitinhas da cartela #005 que comprei na Pshiiit Boutique. Essas fitinhas são muito melhores do que as stripping tape porque elas têm mais cola e fixam melhor. Mas a esmaltação tem que estar bem seca para não arrancar o esmalte de base na hora de tirar a fitinha. 
This time I used the stickers from the sheet #005 I bought at the Pshiiit Boutique. These stickers are much better than the stripping tapes because they have more glue and they stick better. But the base coat has to be completely dry otherwise it gets pulled off when removing the stickers.

No anelar foram duas camadas do Glistening Snow (China Glaze), meu glitter forte preferido. No polegar esmaltei com o Pacific Blue (Sally Hansen) - que mostrarei a vocês na semana que vem - e fiz poás com o branco usando um boleador grande. No mindinho fiz poás pequenos com o Pacific Blue mesmo.
On the ring finger I applied two coats of Glistening Snow (China Glaze), my favourite accent glitter. On the thumb I used Pacific Blue (Sally Hansen) - that I'll show you next week - and made polka dots using white and a big dotting tool. On the pinky I made smaller dots using Pacific Blue.

Por último, fiz a âncora com o Pacific Blue usando um pincel médio. Gente, esse PB é uma coisa de louco. Vocês verão na semana que vem! Simplesmente amei essa mani e até recebi elogios de um colega de trabalho. Uhuuuuuul!
At last, I freehanded the anchor using Pacific Blue and a medium brush. Guys, PB is really awesome. You'll see next week! I simply love this mani and even got a compliment from a (male) colleague at work. Uhuuuuuul

Rotina de Cuidados / Nail Care Routine

Senta lá que o post de hoje é longo. Há alguns meses, mais especificamente nesse post aqui, a Andrea me pediu para mostrar a minha rotina de cuidados e achei a idéia super interessante, até porque, quem não me acompanha desde o início, provavelmente não sabe que ainda sofro com as minhas cutículas por causa do problema que tive. Curiosas? Olhem aqui.

Now, have a seat because today's post is long. A few months ago, more specifically on this post here, Andrea asked me to show my nail care routine and I thought it was a very interesting idea, because those who don't follow me since the beginning, probably don't know I still suffer with my cuticles because of the problem I had. Curious? Look here.


Como ainda estou em tratamento com as cutículas (sim, quase dois anos tomando antimicótico e passando creme), não posso fazer essa rotina completa todo santo fim de semana, por isso vou descrevendo cada produto e a frequência com que uso, tá?
Since I'm still treating the problem with the cuticles (yes, almost two years taking antimycotic and applying creme), I can't do all that every single weekend, so I'll describe the products and the frequency which I use them, ok?

1) Lixa de quatro lados da Essence: para começar, lixo as unhas ainda com o esmalte. Aprendi com a francesa Tartofraises, nesse video aqui, que lixar as unhas ainda com esmalte é mais fácil para deixá-las todas do mesmo tamanho e perfeitamente quadradas, pois em vez de me basear na linha onde começa a margem livre (que é diferente em cada unha), me baseio no formato da unha em si.
Four sides buffing file by Essence: to start, I file down my nails still with polish on. I learned with the French artist Tartofraises, on this video here, that filing the nails with polish on is easier to make them all the same size and perfectly square, because instead of basing myself on the line (which is different on each nail) at the tip of the finger where the free margin starts, I base myself on the shape of the nail itself.

Primeiro lixo embaixo da unha (foto acima) para que ela fique retinha e não curve para dentro. Depois lixo os cantinhos para acertar o quadrado e em seguida lixo o comprimento, com a lixa retinha (foto abaixo), SEMPRE em um único sentido, ou seja, lixando de um lado para o outro sem que a lixa volte para o lado inicial encostando na unha (movimento vai-e-vem). Lixar as unhas em vai-e-vem faz com que elas abram e descasquem em camadas. Tem quem corte as unhas também, eu não corto NUNCA porque cortar as unhas faz com que elas fissurem verticalmente. Existem controvérsias sobre esse último argumento e tem quem diga que não faz mal nenhum (inclusive dermatologistas), mas a lógica é um pouco como trabalhar com madeira. Se você a corta, ela fissura verticalmente e sai farpas né?
At first I file under the nail (picture above) so it gets straight and doesn't bend inside. Then I file the sides to make a square and finally file it down keeping the file straight (picture bellow), ALWAYS in one direction, which means, filing from one side to the other without touching the nail on the way back (as a back and forth motion). Filing the nails on a back and forth motion makes them split and peel off. Some people trim their nails as well, I NEVER trim mine because it makes the nails crack vertically. There is controversy about this last statement and a few say it doesn't harm the nail (including dermatologists), but logically, it's a little like working with wood. If you cut it, it cracks vertically and you get barbs, right?

Depois de tirar o esmalte, uso os outros 3 lados da lixa para limpar e polir. Esse passo é um que eu faço raramente, pois lixar a superfície da lâmina ungueal elimina a primeira camada de queratina e faz com que ela enfraqueça. 
After taking off the polish, I use the other 3 sides of the file to clean and buff. This is something I do rarely, because buffing the surface of the nail plate eliminates the first coat of keratin and makes it weaker.

Dá para ver bem a diferença na cor das unhas né? Elas estavam bem amareladas já e depois ficaram bem branquinhas. Para vocês terem uma idéia, a última vez que poli as unhas foi em abril, para esse post aqui.
You can see the difference on the colour right? They were pretty yellow and got quite white. Just to have an idea, last time I buffed them was in April, for this post here.

2) Lixa de vidro da Mont Bleu: normalmente, uso a lixa de vidro só para o toque final, para deixar tudo bem afiadinho, mas às vezes lixo a unha toda com ela sem problemas. Fiz a resenha dos produtos da Mont Bleu na sexta-feira passada e testei a lixa no sábado. Veredicto: MARAVILHOSA!
Glass file by Mont Bleu: I normally use the glass files for a final touch, to sharpen everything, but sometimes I also use it to file down completely. I reviewed Mont Bleu's products last Friday and tested the file on Saturday. My verdict: WONDERFUL!

3) Instant Cuticle Remover by Sally Hansen: esse é outro produto que uso de vez em quando, pois usar removedor de cutículas com frequência amolece a matriz ungueal e, por consequência, amolece o leito ungueal também, fazendo com que a unha cresça mais fraca.
Instant Cuticle Remover by Sally Hansen: this is another product I use every once in a while, because using cuticle remover frequently softens the matrix and, as a consequence, it also softens the nail bed, making the nail grow weaker.

Passo o bichinho nas unhas como indicado no vidrinho, empurro bem de leve com um empurrador de silicone e tiro as peles mortas com a escovinha. Lavo as mãos logo em seguida. Como ainda estou fazendo o tratamento das cutículas (dá para ver que o index e o anelar ainda estão infectados), usar esse produto com frequência machuca as bonitas e atrapalha o tratamento.
I apply it as instructed on the bottle, then gently push back the cuticles with a silicon pusher and brush off the dead skin. I wash my hands right after that. Since I'm still treating my cuticles (you can see the index and the ring finger are still infected), using this product frequently ends by hurting them and interferes with the treatment.

4) Esfoliante de cutículas e unhas da Yves Rocher: em seguida passo o esfoliante de leite de amêndoas doce da Yves Rocher, meu xodózinho. Ele tem uma espátula em vez de pincel e é de fácil aplicação.
Cuticle exfoliating nail treatment by Yves Rocher: then I apply the exfoliating creme with sweet almond milk by Yves Rocher, my precious. It has a spatula instead of a brush and it's easy to apply.

Como vocês podem ver acima, eu emplastro mesmo. Depois massageio de leve, unha por unha, em movimentos circulares. Ele deixa as cutículas macias e as unhas brilhantes. No site eles recomendam usar duas vezes por semana, mas eu uso 1 vez por mês.
As you see above, I put a lot. Then I gently massage, nail by nail, in circular moves. It makes the cuticles smooth and the nails shiny. On their website they recommend using it twice a week, but I use it once a month.

5) Caneta esfoliante da Essence: na embalagem diz que é esfoliante, mas eu considero mais um hidratante. Não chega a ser óleo, é mais um líquido consistente com vitamina E e cheirinho de morango.
Exfoliating pen by Essence: on the pen it says it's an exfoliating, but I consider it more of a moisturizer. It's not oily, it's a more consistent liquid with vitamin E and berries.

A ponta é de silicone e tem esses dentinhos para massagear as cutículas. Descobri essa caneta por acaso, há alguns meses, e agora, toda vez que vou à perfumaria, compro logo umas 4.... hehehehe
Its tip is made of silicon and has these kind of bristles to massage the cuticles. I found this pen a few months ago, by chance, and now everytime I go to Kruidvat (local store that sells Essence), I get about 4 of them.... hehehehe

Esse é um produto que eu uso sempre, antes de cada esmaltação. O líquido é facilmente absorvido pela pele e, por não ser oleoso, nem preciso limpar depois. Esmalto diretamente depois que ele seca.
This is a product I always use before changing my manicure. The liquid is easily absorbed by the skin and I don't even need to clean afterwards because it's not greasy. I polish right after it's dry.

6) Creme hidratante da Essence: outro produtinho que eu uso sempre. Creme hidratante específico para cutículas, com vitamina E, pantenol, glicerina e óleos de oliva, de côco e sementes de uva. Esse é habitante da minha bolsa. Passo várias vezes por dia. Ele hidrata muito, é de fácil absorção e não deixa as cutículas melecadas nem gordurosas. Muito amor!
Essence Moisturizing Cream: another product I use a lot. It's a moisturizing cream specifically for the cuticles. It contains vitamin E, panthenol, glycerin and oils of olive, coconut and grape seed. This one lives in my purse. I use it many times a day. It hydrates a lot, it's easily absorbed by the skin and doesn't make a mess nor leave the cuticles greasy. I love it!

Dessa vez usei a minha base preferida, a Nail Envy da OPI, mas também uso uma anti-quebra da Yves Rocher, duas da Essence, uma da Essie, casco de cavalo e duas da Risqué. Aqui o resultado dessa 1 hora de cuidados:
This time I used one of my favourite bases, Nail Envy by OPI, but I also use an anti-break one by Yves Rocher, two different ones by Essence, one by Essie, and three other Brazilian ones. Here's the result of an hour of nail care:

Entre outros cremes de hidratação para as cutículas, uso a cerinha da Granado (que fica no escritório), um creme oleoso da Mavala, um creme da Herôme, um creme para mãos e unhas da Yves Rocher, Bepantol e o mais que perfeito Lemony Flutter da Lush.
Espero que vocês tenham curtido o post, foi longo, eu sei... falo pra cacete (nesse caso escrevo), eu sei. Mas queria compartilhar com vocês como faço para manter as minhas unhas bonitas, já que elas são naturalmente fortes.
Among other moisturizing creams, I also use a sort of wax by a Brazilian brand called Granado (this one stays at the office), an oily cream by Mavala, another cream by Herôme, a hand and nails cream by Yves Rocher, Bepanthol and the absolutely awesome Lemony Flutter by Lush.
I hope you like the post, it was long, I know... I talk a lot (in this case I write), I know. But I wanted to share with you what I do to keep my nails pretty, since they're already naturally very strong.
