V.I.PA. with Dee from Deanne29

Tudo bem por ai? Espero que sim.
Hoje o post vai ser curtinho, mas super especial. Enquanto eu vou passar o fim de semana (no sul da Bélgica) com duas amigas que não vejo ha quase 4 anos, deixo vocês com a minha convidada de hoje. Uma inglesa super simpática e extremamente talentosa. A Dee não tem blog, mas posta no perfil @deanne29 lá no Instagram.

Today the post is short, but very special. While I go spend the weekend in the south of Belgium with two girlfriends I don't see it's been almost four years, I leave you with my V.I.P.A. guest. A very sympathetic and extremely talented British girl. Dee doesn't have a blog, but she posts her pictures on Instagram as @deanne29.

Hi everybody! I'm Dee (@deanne29) on Instagram. I'm from the Uk and have been posting nail art onto Instagram for the past year and a half. I was very flattered when Giovanna asked me be a V.I.P.A and guest post on her blog. Today I have a polka dot mani for you that was inspired by a dress.

My base is two coats of OPI Alpine Snow. Then I added tiny polka dots with black acrylic paint. I find using black acrylic paint is best for polka dots as top coat does not smear the dots, it drives me mad when that happens after using black polish for polka dots.
When that was fully dry I placed striping tape into triangle (ish) shapes and filled it in with China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer. I quickly removed the tape to get crisp lines, once that had dried I took a larger dotting tool and White polish and added polka dots on a diagonal so they didn't line up with the black dots.
I hope you all love this mani as much as I do. I can't wait to try out different colour combinations.

Frilly Knickers - Butter London

Good morning glittery girls!

Hoje trago a vocês uma mani que usei há algum tempo, pois estava com vontade de glitter simples, mas divo. Infelizmente ainda estava tirando fotos com o iPhone e vocês já conhecem o meu discurso dramático sobre a falta de sol por aqui, por isso não vou ficar me repetindo né? (acabei de fazê-lo... Kkk)
Today I bring you a mani a wore some time ago because I wanted some simple yet gorgeous glitter on my nails. Unfortunately I was still taking pictures with the iPhone and by now you already know my drama speech about the lack of sunshine here, so I won't repeat myself right? (I just did... lol)

Como cor de base escolhi o 331 Violet da Kiko, um dos esmaltes lilás mais lindo que eu tenho. Até tentei tirar uma foto dele "suzin", mas como tinha esmaltado à noite a foto ficou um cocô, por isso não inclui no post. Mas prometo que o usarei de novo e tirarei uma foto decente dele.
As base colour I picked 331 Violet by Kiko, one of the prettiest lilac polishes I own. I even tried to take a picture of it before applying the glitter, but since I did my nails in the evening the picture was horrible, so I didn't include it in the post. But I promise I'll wear it again and take a decent picture.

Para satisfazer a minha vontade de glitter, fui de Frilly Knickers da Butter London. Ele é um glitter holográfico bem bem fininho, que parece bastante com o Fairy Dust da China Glaze, só que com partículas um pouco menos holográficas. Uma camada foi suficiente porque o pincel vem bem carregado.
To satisfy my will of glitter, I picked Frilly Knickers by Butter London. It's a very very thin holographic glitter that looks a lot like Fairy Dust by China Glaze, but with less holo particles. One coat was enough because the brush comes quite full of glitter.

Gostaria de aproveitar para avisar a vocês que enlouqueci! Sim, enlouqueci de verdade!
Quando terminei o desafio das 31 unhas do ano passado (que eu fiz em 31 semanas) eu disse que não participaria esse ano porque é longo demais. Pois então, mudei de idéia. E digo que enlouqueci porque dessa vez resolvi tentar cumprir o objetivo do desafio que é fazer uma mani por dia. 
I'd like to let you know I went completely bonkers! Yes, I did!
When I finished last year's 31 Day Challenge (which I did in 31 weeks) I said I wasn't going to participate of this year's because it's too long. Well, I changed my mind. And I say I went bonkers because I decided to fill its purpose by doing a mani a day.

Por isso, a partir de segunda vou encher o saco de vocês por aqui todos os dias! Ao menos, é o que eu espero. Que Nossa Senhora dos Esmaltes esteja comigo nesse mês de Setembro e que eu consiga sobreviver a uma mani por dia. Amém!
So, from Monday on I'll disturb you every day! At least, that's what I hope. May the Holy Mother of Polishes be with me in September so I can survive doing a mani a day. Amen! LOL

Guys, what sorcery was that? The month is almost finished and I didn't see it... for crying out loud... this can't be right... it's going too quick, don't you think?

Falando do que interessa, o lindo de hoje eu usei mês passado porque já sabia que não ia ter verão mesmo, por isso aproveitei o pouquinho de sol que surgiu e desecalhei-o. Esse é o 401 Peacock Green da Kiko. Ele é um holográfico sutil. Diria até que é uma mistura de holo linear com scattered holo. Ele forma prisma, mas não é aquela coisa de louco dos CC e dos Jade.
Talking about what brings us here, I wore today's beauty last month because I knew we wouldn't have summer around here, so I took advantage of the little bit of sunshine and got it out of the unused box. This is 401 Peacock Green by Kiko. It's a subtle holographic. I'd even say it's a mix of linear and scattered holo. It forms a prism, but it's not as strong as the CC or the Jade polishes.

O sol não estava super hiper forte, mas deu para mostrar bem o efeito. Só achei ele bem chatinho de esmaltar, mesmo com aqua base. A segunda camada arrastou a primeira e precisei de três camadas para fechar bem a cor. A vantagem é que ele seca rápido.

The sun wasn't extremely strong, but I could capture its effect. I just found it quite annoying to apply, even with aqua base. The second coat dragged the first one and I needed three coats for full opacity. The good side of it is that it dries quickly.

Não quis passar top coat porque como já achei o bichin fraquin demais, fiquei com medo que o top coat escondesse a holografia dele. Pronto, está aqui mais um que irá para a lista dos desapegos. Ele é lindo, mas já não tem muito sol por aqui e ainda por cima o filhote é chato... rodou! kkkkkkk
I didn't want to top coat it because I already found it meeh and I was afraid the top coat would make the holo effect less evident. So, here's another one to go to the de-stash list. It's very pretty, but we don't have enough sunshine here and it's annoying to apply... gone! LOL

[Lacquer Legion Challenge] #LLWeirdScience

O post de hoje está atrasado porque fomos visitar um Zoológico super legal na Holanda no sábado. Se vocês quiserem posto fotos depois. Por conta disso, ontem aproveitei para organizar algumas coisas em casa e fazer as unhas, por isso não tive tempo de escrever o post de hoje.
O tema do The Lacquer Legion desse mês é #LLWeirdScience (ciência estranha) e foi um dos mais difíceis até agora. Penei para achar inspiração, algo original e estranho... não consegui. Por isso fiquei só com a ciência mesmo.
Today's post is late because we went to a very nice Zoo in The Netherlands on Saturday. If you want I can post some pictures later on. because of that, yesterday I organised a few things at home and did my nails, so I didn't have time to write today's post.
This month's prompt for The Lacquer Legion Challenge is #LLWeirdScience and it was one of the most difficult ones. It was very hard to find inspiration, something original and weird... I didn't get it. So I settled for just science.

Depois de muito pesquisar em um site que eu adoro, I Fucking Love Science, encontrei um artigo que fala sobre os efeitos da meditação no cérebro. Os resultados da pesquisa revelaram que a atividade aumentou significativamente nas áreas do cérebro associadas com emoções e memórias durante a meditação não direcionada, comparada com a meditação focada. Este foi um resultado inesperado, porque foi assumido que concentra-se ativamente teria aumentado a atividade cerebral.
After a lot of search on a website I adore, I Fucking Love Science, I found an article that talks about how meditation affects the brain. The results found that activity was significantly increased in the areas of the brain associated with emotions and memories during non directive meditation, compared to the focused meditation. This was an unexpected result, as it was assumed that actively concentrating would have increased brain activity.

Para a minha mani comecei com duas camadas do Little Miss Sunrise da Essence, um dos poucos amarelos que eu curto. A esmaltação é aquela típica perfeita da Essence né? Pincel largo e achatado para cobrir a unha com uma passada, secagem rápida e um brilho incomparável. Muito amor!
To start off my mani I applied two coats of Little Miss Sunrise by Essence, one of the few yellows I actually like. Application is that typical perfection by Essence. A wide and flat brush to cover the whole nail in one stroke, quick drying and an incomparable shine. I love it!

Fiz um gradiente com o Mirabella da Chanel e o Live.Love.Carnaval da OPI para tentar um nascer do sol, mas não fui feliz. Dessa vez o gradiente ficou bem tosco... rsrsrsrsrs
No dedo médio desenhei uma pessoa meditando, usando tinta preta e um pincel médio. No mindinho carimbei o símbolo do OM da plaquinha Explorer Collection 21 da MoYou London.
I made a gradient using Mirabella by Chanel and Live.Love.Carnaval by OPI to try a sunrise, but it's a big fail.... rsrsrsrsr
On the middle finger I drew a person meditating, using black acrylic paint and a medium brush. On the pinky I stamped the OM symbol from the image plate Explorer Collection 21 by MoYou London.

Apesar do gradiente ter ficado tosco, eu gostei bastante dessa mani. E vocês, sabiam dos efeitos da meditação no cérebro?
Eu meditava muito quando era criança, mas acabei deixando de lado conforme fui crescendo. Acho que essa é mais uma atividade da minha infância que deveria retomar. Voltar às minhas raízes naturais tem sido muito bom!
Even if I failed on the gradient, I still like this mani. Did you know about the effects of meditation on the brain?
I used to meditate a lot when I was a child, but I left it aside as I grew up. I think this is another activity from my childhood I should get back to. Retrieving my natural roots has been very good!

Pacific Blue - Sally Hansen + Konad

Então, como eu falei na quarta, hoje venho mostrar o up que eu dei no divino Pacific Blue da Sally Hansen.
Ele é tão perfeito, mas tão perfeito, mas tão perfeito que fiquei com medo que qualquer arte sequer fosse esconder a beleza dele.

So, as I said on Wednesday, today I come show you what I did with the gorgeous Pacific Blue by Sally Hansen.
It's so perfect, but so perfect, but so perfect that I was afraid any art would hide its beauty.

Por isso optei por algo bem simples, só para dar uma incrementada mesmo, mas deixando toda a beleza dele à vista, porque ele merece divar sozinhoooooo! :-P
Para tal, usei o esmalte para carimbo 24 Aqua da Mundo de Uñas e a plaquinha M79 da Konad.
So I chose to do something simple, just to give it a pop, because it deserves to have the spotlight all for itself.
For that, I used the stamping polish 24 Aqua by Mundo de Uñas and the image plate M79 by Konad.

Já mostrei algumas carimbadas com os esmaltes da MDU e instiguei o desejo de muitas de vocês, eu sei. Mas infelizmente parece que teve um problema com a distribuidora e ela não está mais fazendo entregas internacionais. Ao menos não por enquanto. :-(
I have already showed a few arts using those MDU polishes and I know I made a few of you want it as well.
But unfortunately it seems the distributor had a problem and she's not shipping international anymore. At least not for now. :-(

Me arrependi de ter comprado só 10 minis. Deveria ter me jogado em uns 30.... kkkkk
Espero que ela reabra para vendas internacionais, pois os esmaltes são maravilhosos!

Então, hoje eu resolvi mostrar a vocês a mani que usei para ir ao festival sábado passado. Eu queria ter feito um watermarble, mas como tive que fazer as unhas na sexta à noite, não tive tempo nem paciência para tentar.

So, today I decided to show you the mani I used for the festival last Saturday. I wanted to do a watermarble, but since I had to do my nails on Friday evening, I didn't have enough time nor patience to try.

Aí, nada melhor do que néon para arrasar né? Achei esse vidrinho exótico na lojinha da Claire's outro dia e resolvi trazer para testar. O nome dele é Ibiza - finalmente a marca está colocando nomes nos esmaltes, uhuuuuul - e na verdade ele é rosa, mas a Canon não quis captar a cor dele de jeito nenhum e o maridão não deixa eu mexer nas configurações, ainda. Agora eu lembro porque quase não tenho esmalte néon. Saquinhoooooooooooooo!
Then, nothing better than a neon right? I found this exotic bottle at Claire's store the other day and decided to bring it home and give it a try. It's called Ibiza - they're finally naming their polishes, uhuuuuul - and in fact it's pink, but the Canon didn't want to capture its colour properly and hubby doesn't allow me to touch the settings, yet. Now I remember why I don't have many neons. Pain in da buttttttttt!

No dedão, indicador e mindinho foram três camadas dele puro. A cobertura é boa, mas a cor fica mais fechada. No médio e no anelar passei apenas uma camada do Francesinha (Ellen Gold) para servir de base. No anelar passei uma camada do Ibiza e no médio passei duas, só para ver a diferença - que é gritante.
On the thumb, index and pinky I applied three coats without undies. Coverage is good, but the colour gets darker. On the middle and ring finger I applied only one coat of white polish as a base. On the ring finger I left it with one coat of Ibiza and on the middle finger I applied tow, just to see the difference - which is huge.

Depois tirei tudo e esmaltei de novo sobre uma camada do branquinho querido. Para as gêmeas fiz a carimbada invertida usando as mesmas flores da plaquinha PUEEN SE04B que usei nessa mani aqui, mas queria uma coisa bem diferente mesmo, com bastante contraste. Por isso preenchi-as usando o Eletric Yellow (Maybelline), o Pacific Blue (Sally Hansen) e o Ibiza mesmo. Dessa vez coloquei os blings pretos nas outras unhas.
Then I took it all off and painted everything again over one coat of Francesinha by Ellen Gold, one of the best white polishes I've ever tried. For the accent nails I made a stamping decal using the same flowers from PUEEN SE04B I used for this mani here, but I wanted something different, with a lot of contrast. So I filled them using Eletric Yellow (Maybelline), Pacific Blue (Sally Hansen) and Ibiza itself. This time I put black blings on the other nails.

Deixo aqui as poucas fotos que tirei do festival - o marido eu não mostro porque o blog é público e ele não gosta que as imagens dele sejam expostas assim, mas ele se divertiu tanto quanto eu - e uma música do Calvin Harris, para quem não conhece o estilo dele é EDM (Eletronic Dance Music). Foi o show de fechamento (para nós) e foi MARAVILHOSOOOOOOOO!
I leave here the few pictures I took from the festival - I don't show you hubby because the blog is public and he doesn't like having his pictures exposed like that, but he had a blast too - and a song from Calvin Harris, for those who don't know him. It was the last concert (for us) and it was AWESOMEEEEEEE!

Pacific Blue - Sally Hansen (original formula)

Todo mundo ficou super alvoroçado com o tal do Frio na Barriga da Giovanna Antonelli by Hits né? E acabou dando nos nervos da maioria das blogueiras que já eram apaixonadas pela cor e muitas até começaram a perder o gosto pelos azuis elétricos né?

Everybody in Brazil was crazy about the Frio na Barriga from Giovanna Antonelli's collection by Hits. And many bloggers there got kind of sick of eletric blue polishes.

Bom, não foi o meu caso. Apesar de não ter tido a oportunidade de testar o FNB, não deixarei de amar azuis nunca e por isso vim encher o saco de vocês com mais um. Essa perfeição em forma de esmalte é o Pacific Blue da Sally Hansen. A fórmula dele é uma delíciaaaaa! Melhor coisa do mundo para esmaltar. Ele cobre perfeitamente em uma camada (mas eu passo duas de mania mesmo), não escorre, não mancha, enfim, é perfeito mesmo!
Well, that wasn't the case for me. Even if I didn't have the opportunity to test FNB, I'll never stop loving blue and that's why I came bother you with another one. This perfection in a bottle is Pacific Blue by Sally Hansen. It's formula is fantastic! The best ever. It's very smooth to apply and it gets fully opaque with one coat (I always apply two), it doesn't run, it doesn't stain, well, it's really perfect!

Não sei se vocês ficaram sabendo, mas a marca mudou a fórmula do PB e é lógico que eu tinha que desejá-lo logo quando sai do mercado né? Kkkk... Daí dei a sorte de arrematar dois (isso mesmo, dois) em um leilão do eBay. Confesso que nem me importei com o preço não, pois eu queria muitooooooo!
I don't know if you heard (I'm sure most of you out the have), but SH changed its formula and of course, I had to want it exactly when they went out of stock right? Lol... But I was extremely lucky and won two (yes, two) in an auction on eBay. I have to admit I didn't even mind the price, because I really wanted it!

Lendo esse post aqui da Jen (The PolishAholic) vi que a nova versão é jelly com shimmer. Ela passou três camadas e ainda dá para ver a linha da unha. Ainda bem que consegui garantir os meus, pois não gostei nadinha de nada da versão nova!
Reading this post here by Jen (The PolishAholic) I saw the new version is a jelly with shimmer. She applied three coats and you can still see the nail line. Fortunately I got mine, because I didn't like the new version, not at all!
