[Valentine's Mani] #3: VDayNailsCollab on Instagram

A mani de hoje é uma que fiz para participar de uma colaboração de nail art que rolou lá no Instagram no sábado dia 14. A colaboração foi organizada pela Madhu do blog DenDiva e 36 artistas de unhas participaram da brincadeira.

How are you doing? I hope all is well. Today's mani is one I made for a Valentine's Day Nail Art collaboration that happened on Instagram last Saturday. The collab was organized  by Madhu from the blog DenDiva and 36 nail artists took part.

Como acabei ficando sem tempo de postar a mani aqui no dia 14, vai hoje mesmo. O tema da brincadeira era Dia dos Namorados e podia fazer qualquer mani, desde que tivesse a cor vermelha no meio.

Since I didn't have time to share it here on the 14th, it's for today. The theme was Valentine's Day, of course, and we could make whatever we wanted as long as there was red in it.

O vermelho escolhido foi o London da Mavala. Ele é super fácil de esmaltar é bastante pigmentado, o que faz com que a limpeza seja chatinha. Tem que cuidar senão mancha as cutículas.

The red I picked was London by Mavala. It's very easy to apply and it's highly pigmented, which makes cleaning a pain in the rear. We have to be careful not to stain the cuticles.

No final das contas ele acabou ficando só no indicador mesmo. No polegar e no anelar foram duas camadas do It's Raining Stars (Bourjois), sand prata mais perfeito que eu tenho. No mindinho e no médio foram duas camadas do Francesinha (Elle Gold). No médio coloquei três blings vermelhos.

In the end I only left it on the index finger. On the thumb and ring finger I applied two coats of It's Raining Stars (Bourjois), the most perfect silver liquid sand polish I own. On the pinky and the middle finger I applied two coats of Francesinha (Ellen Gold). On the middle finger I put three red rhinestones.

No indicador carimbei com o 01 White e no mindinho com o 09 Red, ambos da Mundo de Uñas, usando a plaquinha Festive Collection 19 da MoYou London.

On the index I stamped with 01 White and on the pinky with 09 Red, both by Mundo de Uñas, using the image plate Festive Collection 19 by MoYou London.

Simplesmente amei essa mani!

I Got Chevrons

Dá pra ver que ainda não consegui organizar o meu tempo né?

Gosto de postar de manhã cedo, mas voltar à rotina depois das férias é uma missão árdua. Mas enfim...
You can see I still couldn't manage my time right?
I like to publish my posts in the early morning, but getting back to the routine afer vacation is a hard task. But anyway...

Como trouxe quase 100 esmaltes do Brasil (30 eu comprei ano passado e os outros foram presente - obrigada tia, obrigada querida amiga, a mais foda de todas, Paula), estou doida para usar todos e não quero deixá-los encalhar.
SInce I brought almost 100 polishes from Brazil (30 of them I bought last year and all the others were gifts - thanks aunt and thanks dear friend, the best of them all, Paula), I'm dying to wear them all and I don't to let them stay in the box for too long.

Comecei com apenas uma camada do Francesinha (Ellen Gold) e passei top coat antes de partir pra arte. Depois que estava bem sequinho, coloquei as fitinhas para chevron.
I started off with one coat of Francesinha (Ellen Gold) and applied top coat before doing the art. I applied the chevron vinyls after it was completely dry.

Na parte de cima do chevron passei o Black Is Black (Essence) e na parte de baixo o Mary's Love da coleção de Natal 2014 da Penélope Luz. Gente, que esmalte mais perfeitooooo! Mas nem falarei dele hoje não porque ele merece aparecer aqui sozinho!
On the top part of the chevrons I applied Black Is Black (Essence) and on the bottom part Mary's Love from the 2014 Christmas Collection by Penélope Luz. Guys, what a gorgeous perfect polish! I won't even talk about it today because it deserves its 15 minutes under the spotlight, all by itself!

A mani de hoje é uma das mais fofas que já fiz. Até a mulherada do escritório achou fofa. Ho ho ho ho ho

Today's mani is one of the cutest I've ever made. Even the girls at the office thought it was cute. Ho ho ho ho ho

Aproveitei para usar um esmalte divo que consegui em uma troquinha americana. O Ruby Pumps da China Glaze é um vermelho glass fleck. Coisa mais linda e super fácil de esmaltar.

I used another gorgeous polish I got in an American swap. Ruby Pumps by China Glaze is a red glass fleck. Super pretty and easy to apply.

Depois de tirar a foto, removi-o do anelar e passei uma camada do Don't Burst My Bubble da OPI como base (ainda vou tirar uma foto dele sozinho) e passei top coat matte por cima para ficar mais fácil de desenhar.

After taking the picture, I took it off of the ring finger and applied on coat of Don't Burst My Bubble by OPI (I still have to take a nice picture of it plain) and applied matte top coat to make it easier to draw on.

Desenhei o Papai Noel com tinta acrílica, usando esse tutorial aqui. Nas outras unhas esponjei de leve com o Glistening Snow (China Glaze). Por cima fiz um floco de neve em cada unha com um pincel para detalhe e tinta acrílica branca e a neve caindo também com a tinta e um boleador pequeno.

I drew Santa Claus with acrylic paint, is ring this tutorial here. On the other nails I made a gradient with Glistening Snow (China Glaze). I made a snow flake on each nail using a detail brush and white acrylic paint and the falling snow also with the paint and a small dotting tool.

Red Roses by Born Pretty

Tudo bem por aí? Por aqui tudo uma loucura só.
Como falei na sexta, comecei uma nova função lá no trabalho e estou cheia de tarefas novas, muito mais responsabilidade e muito menos tempo. Como ainda estou em treinamento, tenho que me dedicar mais do que o normal, por isso vou ficar em falta com vocês por um tempinho tá?!
How are you doing? Everything is crazy busy here.
As I said on Friday, I started a new function at my job and I'm full of new tasks, much more responsibility and much less time. Since I'm still in training, I have to dedicate myself even more than usual, so I'll owe you visits for a while, ok?! 

Dessa vez eu resenho essas lindas películas em water decal que vieram lá da lojinha Born Pretty. Para quem não sabe o que são water decals, são películas que imersas em água por alguns segundos, se soltam do papel e basta posicionar na unha. Elas são super fáceis de aplicar.
This time I review these pretty water decals that came from Born Pretty Store. For those who don't know what are water decals, they're like nail wraps that when soaked in water for a few seconds they peel off the paper and you just have to apply it on the nail. They're very easy to apply. 

Como cor de base escolhi o Candy Land da coleção Wonderland da Missp, "filha" da marca portuguesa Purple Professional. Ele é um vermelho bem vivo com tom de fundo laranja. Quanto ao acabamento, acho que ele está mais para crelly do que para cremoso, porque tem aquela aparência gelatinosa, mas cobre perfeitamente na segunda camada. Esse brilho todo é dele mesmo.
As base colour I picked Candy Land from the Wonderland collection by Missp, "daughter" of the Portuguese brand Purple Professional. It's a very bright red with an orange undertone. As for the finish, I'd say it's more of a crelly than a creme, because it looks squishy, but gets fully opaque on the second coat. This is its natural shine, no top coat.

Depois retirei-o do médio e do anelar e passei uma camada do Branco para carimbo da Blant como base e apliquei os water decals quando o branco já estava bem seco. Amei essas películas, aliás, amo flores. Nas outras unhas coloquei apenas um bling para não ficar muito cheio de informação.
Next, I took it off of the middle and ring finger and applied one coat of Branco stamping polish by Blant as base and applied the water decals when it was completely dry. I love these decals, well, I love flowers. On the other nails I just put a bling so it wouldn't be too busy.

Rose Bower - A-England

Hoje eu finalmente venho mostrar mais um esmalte perfeito, que muitas de vocês já devem ter visto pela blogosfera, mas que nunca é demais admirá-lo né?

Today I finally bring you a polish that is more than perfect (that's not proper English, but it's the truth), that you probably have already seen many times in the nail blogging world, but we never have enough of it, right?

O Rose Bower da A-England é um vermelho bem aberto de acabamento scattered holo. Foram duas camadas super fáceis de esmaltar mas, como todo vermelho, tem que ter cuidado na hora de limpar para não manchar as cutículas. E viva a esmaltação americana! 
Rose Bower by A-England is a bright red with a scattered holo finish. I applied two coats but it already gets quite opaque on the first one. Application is very smooth and you just have to be careful not to touch the cuticles because, like any other red polish, it stains a bit.

Como vocês podem ver, na luz natural (sem incidência do sol), ele fica meio "apagado" e só aparece o shimmer. Mas sob a luz do sol ele revela toda a sua beleza.
It gets dull under natural light, as you can see, and its subtle shimmer reveals itself. But it's absolutely gorgeous under sunlight.

Já li em vários blogs as meninas classificando-o simplesmente como holo. Eu iria um pouco mais longe e classificaria como scattered holo mesmo, pois as partículas holográficas são muito maiores do que no holo linear.
I've read on many blogs the girls classifying it simply as a holo. I'd go a little further and classify it as a scattered holo, because the holo particles in it are much bigger than in a linear holo.

[12 Meses 12 Esmaltes] Setembro :: DS Opulence - OPI

Boa tarde divaaaaaas!

Good afternoon!

Hoje tem post duplo também porque não podia deixar de desencalhar o esmaltinho do mês né?

Today I also have a double post because I couldn't leave this one behind right?

Apesar de que nem posso reclamar não, porque esse mês desencalhei um monte graças ao desafio 31 unhas.

Although I can't complain because this month I took a lot of polishes out of the untried box thanks to the 31 day challenge.

O divo de setembro é o DS Opulence da linha Designers da OPI. Ele é um scattered holo bem delicado.

Semptember's gorgeous is DS Opulence from the Designers series by OPI. It's a very delicate scattered holo. 

Adorei esse tom meio vermelho outono com fundo marrom que ele tem. Também achei o efeito scattered holo mais discreto do que nos outros da linha. Amei demais!

I love this shade, a kind of autumn red with brown undertones. I also think its scattered holo is more discrete than on the others from the same collection. I love it!

31DC2014 Day 28: Inspired by a Flag

Bom dia gatas maravilhosas!
Good morning pretties!

Estou chegando ao fim... uhuuuuuuuul! Só mais três diazinhos. Nem acredito gente!
Dessa vez decidi me inspirar em uma bandeira nada convencional, a bandeira Rastafari.
Não sei se já falei pra vocês, mas eu já fui hippie gente. Juro, de verdade. Nunca fui rasta não, mas adoro um reggae.
I'm getting to the end of it... uhuuuuul! Only 3 more days to go. I can't believe it!
This time I got inspired by a non-conventional flag, the Rastafari flag.
I don't know if I told you already, but there was a time I was a hippie. Seriously guys. I wasn't a Rastafari, but I love reggae.

Na verdade, sou uma pessoa bastante eclética. No quesito música só não suporto mesmo é funk - brasileiro, porque funk de verdade, o americano, é bom demais - e sertanejo. De resto, curto de tudo um pouco.
Actually, I'm a pretty eclectic person. When it comes to music, the only styles I can't stand are Brazilian funk and country music. For the rest, I like a little bit of everything.

Falando da mani, peguei o Jade Is The New Black (OPI), o Little Miss Sunrise (Essence) e o Roaring Red (Catrice) para fazer a bandeira. Comecei delimitando as áreas usando as fitinhas, mas só consegui fazer o dedinho mindinho e acabei perdendo a paciência. Daí joguei na mão livre mesmo.
Talking about the mani, I got Jade Is The New Black (OPI), Little Miss Sunrise (Essence) and Roaring Red (Catrice) to make the flag. I started by delimiting the areas using stripping tape, but I only got to do the pinky and then I lost it. I finished the rest by freehand.
 

Passei uma camada horizontal do extra brilho da Ideal seguindo a direção das linhas e depois fosqueei tudo com o Matte Top Coat da OPI. Com um pincel para detalhes e tinta acrílica preta, desenhei o leão de Judah no dedo médio.
I applied regular top coat horizontally to follow the direction of the stripes and then Matte Top Coat by OPI. With a small detail brush and black acrylic paint, I drew the Judah lion on the middle finger.
 

Foi super fácil de fazer, em apenas 15 minutos ele estava pronto. Uma última camada de top coat fosco por cima e voilà.
It was super easy to make, only 15 minutes and I was done. A last coat of matte top coat and voilà.

A mani de hoje é mais uma que me deixou extremamente orgulhosa e me lembrou o porquê de ter decidido enfrentar esse desafio de novo: para aprimorar as minhas técnicas e me superar cada vez mais.
Today's mani is another one that made me extremely proud and reminded me why I decided to enter this challenge again: to improve my techniques and grow with my art.

De início, queria fazer uma mani inspirada na história de Ícaro, pois é uma história que meu pai contava pra gente quando éramos pequenos smurfs. Mas perdi a foto que tinha achado e não lembrava direito as cores. Daí escolhi outro livro que marcou a minha infância: O Pequeno Príncipe. O primeiro livro que li sozinha. 
At first, I wanted to make a mani inspired by the story of Icarus, because it's a tale my dad used to tell us when we were little smurfs. But I lost the picture I had found and couldn't remember the exact colours. So I picked another book that made a lasting impression on my childhood: The Little Prince. The first book I read by myself.

O esmalte escolhido para reinar nessa arte foi o Rose Bower da A-England. Deixo só uma 'fotenha' dele aqui, pois farei um post especial só para ele depois que o desafio acabar, porque ele merece!
The polish I picked to reign in this art is Rose Bower by A-England. I show you just one picture of it because I'll make a special post for it once the challenge is over, because it deserves the spot!

No médio e no anelar passei duas camadas do Francesinha da Ellen Gold e passei o top coat matte da OPI por cima. Tinha lido em um blog que desenhar com tinta acrílica sobre esmalte fosco é mais fácil do que sobre cremoso, e realmente, a diferença é gritante. A tinta adere com muito mais facilidade sobre o esmalte fosco. Como se estivesse desenhando no papel. Juro.
On the middle and ring finger I applied two coats of Francesinha by Ellen Gold and topped it with the Matte Top Coat by OPI. I read on a blog that drawing with acrylic paint over matte polish is much easier than over a regular creme, and serioulsy, it makes a huge difference. The paint adheres much easier over the matte polish. It's like I was drawing on paper. I swear.

Também vi em um outro blog que umedecer o pincel com óleo antes de passar na tinta, ajuda o traço a ficar mais homogêneo e sem falhas. Gente, juro pra vocês, nunca foi tão fácil desenhar uma rosa na minha vida. Escolhi essa aqui em vez da clássica rosa protegida pelo vidro.
I also read on another blog that wetting the brush with oil before dipping it in the paint, helps get a smoother line with no bald spots. Guys, I promise you, it was never so easy to draw a rose. I picked this one instead of the classic rose protected by the glass.

Fiz uma foto em close-up porque amei demais a minha arte. Se vocês me permitirem colocar a modéstia na gavetinha, achei que ficou muito linda mesmo!
I even took a close-up because I love this art so much. If you allow me to put the modesty in the drawer, I think it's gorgeous!

31DC2014 Day 1: Red Nails

Good morning pretty flowers!

Para quem não teve tempo (ou paciência) de ler o post de sexta, eu me declarei insana e decidi participar do desafio 31 unhas desse ano, só que cumprindo o objetivo de fazer uma unha por dia. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Como meu tempo é curto e não sou louca de atrapalhar meu precioso sono fazendo unha até as 3h da madruga, resolvi fazê-las na véspera de cada dia do desafio e já que estarei aqui todos os dias enchendo o saco de vocês, vou tentar escrever menos, ok?
For those who didn't have time (or patience) to read Friday's post, I self-declared myself insane and decided to join this year's 31 Day Challenge, but really filling the purpose of doing a mani a day. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Since I have little time and I'm not crazy to disturb my precious sleep hours by doing my nails until 3am, I decided to do them the evening before each day of the challenge and since I'll be here bothering you every day, I'll try to write less, ok?

Comecei sem muita dificuldade, para deixar a inspiração fluir para as próximas manis.
No polegar, médio e anelar foram duas camadas do Roaring Red da Catrice que já mostrei nesse post aqui. Ao vivo ele é um pouco mais fechado do que na foto, mas como diz o love, a cor real é a que a câmera capta e não a que os nossos olhos vêem ... não acredito. Humpf! (sim, ainda escrevo 'vêem' como antigamente e não, não aceito os estupros à minha língua tão amada para que os preguiçosos tenham facilidade em aprendê-la.)
I started easily, to let inspiration flow to the next manis.
On the thumb, middle and ring finger I applied two coats of Roaring Red by Catrice that I already showed on this post here. It's a little darker than it looks on the picture, but as hubby says, the real colour is the one the camera captures and not the one our eyes see... I don't believe it. Humpf!

No indicador e no mindinho foram duas camadas do Francesinha da Ellen Gold. Para carimbar, usei duas estampa diferentes da plaquinha Pro Collection 08 da MoYou London e os esmaltes branco da Konad para carimbar sobre o vermelho e o #9 Red da Mundo de Uñas para carimbar sobre o branco.
On the index and pinky I applied two coats of Francesinha by Ellen Gold. I used two different patterns from the image plate Pro Collection 08 by MoYou London and a white polish by Konad to stamp over the red and #9 Red by Mundo de Uñas to stamp over the white.

Top coatiei tudo com o Insta-Dri da Sally Hansen, meu preferido para as manis noturnas. Na mão direita eu inverti a ordem das cores.
Gostei bastante do resultado. Definitivamente melhor do que as unhas vermelhas que fiz para o desafio do ano passado.
I top coated everything with Insta-Dri by Sally Hansen, my favourite for late-evening manis. On the right hand I inverted the order of colours.
I like the result. Definitively better than the red nails I made for last year's challenge.

Acabou que não consegui escrever menos né? Rsrsrsrsrsrs
At the end I couldn't write less... LOL
