31DC2014 Day 28: Inspired by a Flag

Good morning pretties!

Estou chegando ao fim... uhuuuuuuuul! Só mais três diazinhos. Nem acredito gente!
Dessa vez decidi me inspirar em uma bandeira nada convencional, a bandeira Rastafari.
Não sei se já falei pra vocês, mas eu já fui hippie gente. Juro, de verdade. Nunca fui rasta não, mas adoro um reggae.
I'm getting to the end of it... uhuuuuul! Only 3 more days to go. I can't believe it!
This time I got inspired by a non-conventional flag, the Rastafari flag.
I don't know if I told you already, but there was a time I was a hippie. Seriously guys. I wasn't a Rastafari, but I love reggae.

Na verdade, sou uma pessoa bastante eclética. No quesito música só não suporto mesmo é funk - brasileiro, porque funk de verdade, o americano, é bom demais - e sertanejo. De resto, curto de tudo um pouco.
Actually, I'm a pretty eclectic person. When it comes to music, the only styles I can't stand are Brazilian funk and country music. For the rest, I like a little bit of everything.

Falando da mani, peguei o Jade Is The New Black (OPI), o Little Miss Sunrise (Essence) e o Roaring Red (Catrice) para fazer a bandeira. Comecei delimitando as áreas usando as fitinhas, mas só consegui fazer o dedinho mindinho e acabei perdendo a paciência. Daí joguei na mão livre mesmo.
Talking about the mani, I got Jade Is The New Black (OPI), Little Miss Sunrise (Essence) and Roaring Red (Catrice) to make the flag. I started by delimiting the areas using stripping tape, but I only got to do the pinky and then I lost it. I finished the rest by freehand.
 

Passei uma camada horizontal do extra brilho da Ideal seguindo a direção das linhas e depois fosqueei tudo com o Matte Top Coat da OPI. Com um pincel para detalhes e tinta acrílica preta, desenhei o leão de Judah no dedo médio.
I applied regular top coat horizontally to follow the direction of the stripes and then Matte Top Coat by OPI. With a small detail brush and black acrylic paint, I drew the Judah lion on the middle finger.
 

Foi super fácil de fazer, em apenas 15 minutos ele estava pronto. Uma última camada de top coat fosco por cima e voilà.
It was super easy to make, only 15 minutes and I was done. A last coat of matte top coat and voilà.

Tudo bem por ai? Por aqui tudo ótimo.
Olha, juro pra vocês que o que eu sofri por falta de inspiração no desafio passado, eu fui compensada nesse. Talvez porque tivesse decidido começar planejando, ou simplesmente porque a minha musa está presente este mês. Não sei explicar, só sei que estou muito grata.
How are you doing? Everything is great over here.
Well, I swear to you that what I have suffered with a lack of inspiration on the last challenge, I was compensated on this one; Maybe because I started it with a plan, or simply because my muse is around this month. I can't explain, I just know I'm very grateful.

Quando pensei em obra de arte, na mesma hora pensei no Romero Britto. Só tinha que escolher obra, e essa foi a parte mais difícil, pois amo tudo que ele cria. Daí, olhando na parte de esculturas do site dele, achei essa cobrinha super fofa. A arte chama-se From Eden e foi criada em 2006.
When I thought of an artwork, I thought of Romero Britto. I just had to chose the work, and that was the most difficult part, because I love everything he creates. Then, checking the sculptures page of his website, I found this super cute snake. The artwork is called From Eden and was made in 2006.

Aproveitei para estrear outro esmalte divo novinho em folha, o Kiwi da Barry M, também da coleção Exotic Summer. Uma maravilha para esmaltar. Parece manteiga de tão perfeito. Na primeira camada ele já cobre super bem, mas passei a segunda para deixar a esmaltação homogênea.
I took the opportunity to use another brand new gorgeous polish, Kiwi by Barry M, also from the Exotic Summer collection. Wonderful to apply. It's smooth like butter. It's already opaque on the first coat, but I applied the second to have an even finish.

Pena que não tive espaço para terminar a maçã na cabeça da cobrinha, por isso ficou parecendo um chapeuzinho de coração, ou um laço.. hehehehehhe
It's a shame I didn't have enough space to finish the apple on the snake's head, so I looks like a heart-shaped hat, or a bow... hehehehhe

Só usei tinta para desenhá-la mesmo, para preencher usei vários esmaltes diferentes. Depois foi só passar top coat e voilà. Amei, amei, amei!
I only used acrylic paint to draw it, for filling I used many different polishes.
Then just applied top coat and voilà. I love it, love it, love it!

Vocês acreditam que já estou chegando no final do desafio? Só mais 5 manis para acabar. Nem acredito que consegui chegar tão longe. Agora, tenho que dizer que essa rotina é muito louca. Não sei como estou conseguindo conciliar trabalho, academia e uma mani por dia, mas acho que esse esforço todo esta valendo à pena.
Can you believe I'm getting to the end of the challenge? Only 5 more manis to go. I can't believe I already got that far. Now, I have to say this routine is insane. I don't know how I'm being able to manage work, gym and a mani a day, but I think all this effort is paying off.

A mani de hoje é um estilo que estava na minha lista há muito e também aproveitei para desencalhar mais um bonitinho. Esse é o Free Hugs da Essence. Também só tinha usado uma vez e ficou esquecido na caixinha.
Today's mani is another style that was on my list for a long time and also an opportunity to get another polish from the box of forgotten ones. This is Free Hugs by Essence. I had only used it once and it got stuck in the box.

Foram duas camadas sobre base fosca, fácil de esmaltar e de limpar. Infelizmente apareceram algumas bolinhas porque agora que todo mundo voltou das férias, a temperatura subiu e temos tido dias lindos... hahahahaha
Two coats over matte base coat, easy to apply and to clean. Unfortunately I got a few bubbles because now that everybody is back from vacation, the temperature has increased and we've been having beautiful days... hahahahaha

Carimbei a imagem Pied de Poule (pé de galinha em francês) da placona DRK-A usando o esmalte preto para carimbo da Konad. Passei as minhas gotinhas de secagem rápida da Essence (que já estão acabando e eles não repõem na perfumaria... mimimi) e em seguida passei o extra brilho com óleo de argan da Ideal.
I stamped the houndstooth image from the big DRK-A plate using the black staping polish by Knoad. I put a few quick drying drops by Essence (which are almost finished and they don't restock at the cosmetics store... mimimim) and then I applied my favourute Brazilian top coat.

Gostei bastante do resultado, apesar da carimbada ter ficado um pouquinho falhada. Acho que está na hora de um novo esmalte preto para carimbo.
I really like the result, even if there are a few failed spots on the stamping. I think it's time for a new black stamping polish.

Para a mani de hoje tive menos sucesso do que para a mani de ontem. Acho tão ruim quando um dia faço uma mani linda e a do dia seguinte não corresponde às minhas expectativas... rsrsrsr
Mas sabemos que vida de nailista é isso mesmo né? Nem sempre funfa... kkkk
For today's mani I was less succesful. I find so annoying when I make a pretty mani one day and the day after it doesn't meet my expectations... 
But we know a nailista's life is like that right? When can't always get it right... LOL

Me inspirei nesse vestido aqui do Valentino. Decididamente, descobri que gosto das criações dele sem nem notar que são dele. Essa é a segunda vez que escolho um Valentino como inspiração fashion.
I got inspired by this dress by Valentino. Definitely, I found out I like his creations without even know they're his. This is the second time I pick a Valentino as a fashion inspiration.

A mani é bem elaborada, mas super fácil de fazer. Ia usar as fitinhas para delimitar as áreas de cores, mas acabei perdendo a paciência e fazendo tudo à mão livre mesmo.
The mani is quite elaborate, but very easy to make. I was going to use stripping tape to delimit the areas of the colours, but I lost my patience and ended by freehanding it all.

Os esmaltes escolhidos foram o The Pinky and The Brain da Catrice, o Black Is Black da Essence, o 238 Martha Red da Kiko e o Francesinha da Ellen Gold que eu coloquei em um vidrinho vazio da Essence por causa do pincel perfeito! Paula, você é uma "gênia"!
The polishes used were The Pinky and The Brain by Catrice, Black Is Black by Essence, 238 Martha Red by Kiko and Francesinha by Ellen Gold that I poured into a an empty Essence bottle because of tis perfect brush! Paula, you're a genious!

Só acho que deveria ter escolhido um rosa mais claro porque ele ficou muito próximo do vermelho. Mas só fui ver quando passei as fotos para o computador e não deu tempo de trocar porque já estava tarde.
I just think I should have chosen I brighter pink because it ended up being to close to the red. But I only saw that when I uploaded the pictures to the computer and I didn't have time to change because it was already late.

Uma pena, pois gostei bastante da idéia. E vocês, qual o estilista preferido de vocês?
It's a shame because I really like the idea. What about you? What's your favourite couturier?

Good morning roses of my garden!

A mani de hoje é mais uma que me deixou extremamente orgulhosa e me lembrou o porquê de ter decidido enfrentar esse desafio de novo: para aprimorar as minhas técnicas e me superar cada vez mais.
Today's mani is another one that made me extremely proud and reminded me why I decided to enter this challenge again: to improve my techniques and grow with my art.

De início, queria fazer uma mani inspirada na história de Ícaro, pois é uma história que meu pai contava pra gente quando éramos pequenos smurfs. Mas perdi a foto que tinha achado e não lembrava direito as cores. Daí escolhi outro livro que marcou a minha infância: O Pequeno Príncipe. O primeiro livro que li sozinha. 
At first, I wanted to make a mani inspired by the story of Icarus, because it's a tale my dad used to tell us when we were little smurfs. But I lost the picture I had found and couldn't remember the exact colours. So I picked another book that made a lasting impression on my childhood: The Little Prince. The first book I read by myself.

O esmalte escolhido para reinar nessa arte foi o Rose Bower da A-England. Deixo só uma 'fotenha' dele aqui, pois farei um post especial só para ele depois que o desafio acabar, porque ele merece!
The polish I picked to reign in this art is Rose Bower by A-England. I show you just one picture of it because I'll make a special post for it once the challenge is over, because it deserves the spot!

No médio e no anelar passei duas camadas do Francesinha da Ellen Gold e passei o top coat matte da OPI por cima. Tinha lido em um blog que desenhar com tinta acrílica sobre esmalte fosco é mais fácil do que sobre cremoso, e realmente, a diferença é gritante. A tinta adere com muito mais facilidade sobre o esmalte fosco. Como se estivesse desenhando no papel. Juro.
On the middle and ring finger I applied two coats of Francesinha by Ellen Gold and topped it with the Matte Top Coat by OPI. I read on a blog that drawing with acrylic paint over matte polish is much easier than over a regular creme, and serioulsy, it makes a huge difference. The paint adheres much easier over the matte polish. It's like I was drawing on paper. I swear.

Também vi em um outro blog que umedecer o pincel com óleo antes de passar na tinta, ajuda o traço a ficar mais homogêneo e sem falhas. Gente, juro pra vocês, nunca foi tão fácil desenhar uma rosa na minha vida. Escolhi essa aqui em vez da clássica rosa protegida pelo vidro.
I also read on another blog that wetting the brush with oil before dipping it in the paint, helps get a smoother line with no bald spots. Guys, I promise you, it was never so easy to draw a rose. I picked this one instead of the classic rose protected by the glass.

Fiz uma foto em close-up porque amei demais a minha arte. Se vocês me permitirem colocar a modéstia na gavetinha, achei que ficou muito linda mesmo!
I even took a close-up because I love this art so much. If you allow me to put the modesty in the drawer, I think it's gorgeous!

31DC2014 Day 23: Inspired by a Movie

Como vocês sabem bem, muita gente sentiu a perda do excepcional ator Robin Williams, e como não fiz nenhum homenagem à ele, resolvi aproveitar esse tema do desafio para homenageá-lo com uma arte inspirada pelo meu filme preferido. O filme que marcou a minha adolescência e que me faz chorar até hoje: Sociedade dos Poetas Mortos.
As you all know, many people felt the loss of the exceptional actor Robin Williams, and since I didn't make any art in his honor, I took advantage of this day of the challenge to do that with an art inspired by my favourite movie. The movie that made a lasting impression when I was a teenager and that still makes me cry: Dead Poets Society.

Comecei com duas camadas do Almond da Barry M sobre base fosca. Esse é mais um da coleção Exotic Summer. Ainda me referindo ao post da Lucy, ela o classifica como um mauve pálido puxado para o taupe. Nessa eu tenho que discordar, pois mauve em francês significa roxo e acho que ele está muito mais para o taupe que é uma derivação de cinza com tom de fundo marrom, do que para roxo pálido. O que vocês acham? Como definiriam essa cor?
I started off with two coats of Almond by Barry M over a matte base coat. It's another one of the Exotic Summer collection. I still refer to Lucy's post, where she classifies it as a pale mauve leaning towards taupe shades. Well, this time I have to disagree, because mauve in French means purple and I think it's much more taupe, which is a shade of gray with brown undertones, than pale purple. What do you think? How would you define this colour?

Enfim, no polegar, indicador e mindinho carimbei essas rosas lindas da plaquinha PUEEN27 usando o esmalte para carimbo #9 Red da Mundo de Uñas. Escolhi as rosas fazendo referência à uma das minhas frases preferidas do filme: "colha seus botões de rosa enquanto pode, o velho tempo passa voando e a mesma flor que hoje está sorrindo, amanhã estará morrendo." (ainda sei de cor... hehehe)
Anyway, on the thumb, index and pinky I stamped these gorgeous roses from the image plate PUEEN27 using the stamping polish #9 Red by Mundo de Uñas. I picked the roses to refer to one of my favourite lines of the movei "gather ye rosebuds while ye may, old time is still a-flying and this same flower that smiles today, tomorrow will be dying." (I still know it by heart... LOL)

E escrevi as palavras Carpe Diem no dedo médio e no anelar usando tinta acrílica preta e um pincel para detalhes. Desculpem a qualidade das fotos, mas a luz de fim do dia ontem estava uma porcaria... rsrsrsrsrs
I wrote the words Carpe Diem on the middle and ring finger using black acrylic paint and a detail brush. I'm sorry for the poor quality of the pictures, but yesterday's end of day light was horrible...

Como vocês estão? Espero que muito bem.
A mani de hoje é muito menos elaborada do que a que fiz para o desafio passado, mas não menos fofa. Confesso que poderia ter feito melhor, mas fiz com pressa para poder sair, ai acabou ficando meia boca... rsrsrsrsrsr 
How are you doing? I hope you're all doing great.
Today's mani is much less elaborated than the one I made for the last challenge, but not less cute. I have to admit I could've done better, but I did it in a hurry because I had to go out, so it's meeh... rsrsrsrrsrsr

Dessa vez aproveitei para fazer uma mani que já estava na lista de espera e me inspirei em uma música brasileira que eu adoro: All Star do Nando Reis.
This time I did a mani that was on my waiting list and got inspired by a Brazilian song I love: All Star (Converse Shoes) by Nando Reis.

Como cor de base escolhi o It's All I Can Blue da Catrice que só usei uma vez, nesse post aqui, e ainda não tinha tirado nenhuma foto dele sozinho. Super hiper fácil de esmaltar. Cobre bem já na primeira camada, mas sempre passo duas né?
As base colour I picked It's All I Can Blue by Catrice which I only used once, for this post here, and still didn't have any picture of it plain. Very easy to apply. It covers well already on the first coat, but I always apply two.

Depois segui esse tutorial aqui para fazer o meu All Star, usando esmalte branco, prata e preto. Para fazer a francesinha usei o próprio pincel do esmalte, mas achei que ficou muito grande pois tenho mantido as unhas mais curtinhas.
Then I follow this tutorial here to make my Converse, using white, silver and black polishes. To make the French tip I used the brush from the polish itself, but I think it's too large because I'm keeping my nails shorter.

Fiz as bolinhas com o menor boleador que tenho e o cadarço usando um pincel pra detalhes. Definitivamente, uma das manis mais fáceis e mais rápidas que já fiz. Com certeza, terei que fazer uma melhor depois que o desafio acabar.
I made the dots with the smallest dotting tool I have and the shoe lace using a detail brush. Definitively, one of the easiest and quickest manis I've ever made. I'll have to make a better one after the challenge is over, for sure.

Hoje o dia está lindo lá fora e não vejo a hora de outubro chegar para que possamos finalmente sair em férias. Uhuuuuuul!
Para a mani de hoje, eu queria fazer uma mani de sereia, já estava com a idéia toda na cabeça, quando fui procurar nas minhas plaquinhas ontem e vi que não tenho nenhuma imagem de escamas... mimimi
Today is a beautiful day outside and I'm looking forward to October so we can finally leave on vacation. Uhuuuuuul!
For today's mani I wanted to do mermaid nails, I had the whole idea in my mind, when I went check my image plates and saw I don't have any mermaid scales image.... mimimi

 

Por isso parti para o plano B (como é bom pensar antes e não na última hora né?), e peguei um esmaltchenho lindo que já apareceu várias vezes por aqui, mas ainda não tinha tirado nenhuma foto dele "suzin".
So I went for plan B (it's good to think ahead and not at the last minute right?), and got a pretty polish that's been here many times, but I still didn't have any picture of it "alone".

Esse é Live.Love.Carnaval da OPI coleção Brazil 2014. Duas camadas super fáceis, ele tem um acabamento glossy lindo de morrer. E fácil de limpar e não mancha. O único problema é que ele é um coral super aberto, quase néon, e por conseqüência um pé no saco para fotografar. 
Here's Live.Love.Carnaval by OPI Brazil Collection 2014. Two easy coats, it has a gorgeous glossy finish. It's easy to cleand and it doesn't stain. The only problem is that it's a very bright coral, almost neon, and it's a pain in the butt to photograph.

Não sei se já disse pra vocês, mas a cor coral pertence à família do vermelho e não do laranja como todo mundo acha. Como vocês podem ver, a câmera conseguiu captar bem os reflexos de vermelho, mas nao foi simpatica com o coral. Hehehehehe
I don't know if I told you that before, but the colour coral belongs to the red colour family and not to the orange as most people think. As you can see, the camera captured its red undertone, but didn't do the coral justice.

Me inspirando no nome do esmalte, peguei a minha plaquinha Tourist Collection 14 da MoYou London e carimbei as plumas da fantasia de carnaval no indicador e no anelar, invertendo a posição, usando os esmaltes para carimbo da Mundo de Uñas #16 Lilac e #5 Turquoise.
Inspired by the name of the polish, I got my Tourist Collection 14 by MoYou London and stamped the feathers from carnaval costumes on the index and the ring finger, switching positions, using the stamping polishes #16 Lilac and #5 Turquoise by Mundo de Uñas.

No mindinho e no médio carimbei as dançarinas de samba usando o preto da Konad para o corpo e o #5 Turquoise para as plumas. E no dedão carimbei a palavra 'samba' com o preto.
On the pinky and middle finger I stamped the samba dancers using black by Konad for the body and #5 Turquoise for the feathers. On the thumb I stamped the word 'samba' using black.

Amei demais essa mani.
